As mentioned in the previous Finalized post<\/a>,
\nAltair is scheduled to go live at epoch 74240 — Oct 27, 2021, 10:56:23am UTC. See the Altair Mainnet Announcement<\/a> for details on who, how, and why.<\/p>\n

Suffice it to say here that the upgrade is in approximately one week, so the time to upgrade your node is now<\/em>. If you run a validator on the beacon chain, you must<\/em> upgrade before the Altair upgrade epoch or else you will experience downtime penalties.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: 4 of the 5 mainnet clients — Nimbus, Teku, Lighthouse, and Prysm — have made minor version releases since the original Altair announcement (updated list here<\/a>). Because these new releases contain a mix of security patches and optimizations, we highly<\/em> recommend running the latest client release even if you have already upgraded for Altair.<\/p>\n
