New versions of the affected clients have been released and are linked in the &#8220;Client Versions&#8221; table below. The block number for London is unchanged, and still is 12 965 000. It is highly recommended that projects familiarize themselves with the EIP. The issue was caused by a missed validation for 1559-style transactions by some client implementations. In short, a transaction whose account&#8217;s balance was larger than the effective gas used by the transaction, but lower than the transaction&#8217;s <span class=\"chakra-text css-ons8vw\">maxFeePerGas<\/span> multiplied by the <span class=\"chakra-text css-ons8vw\">gasPrice<\/span> was included in a block erroneously.<\/p>\n<p class=\"chakra-text css-gi02ar\">A full postmortem of the issue is available in the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"chakra-link css-vezwxf\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ethereum\/eth1.0-specs\/blob\/master\/network-upgrades\/retrospectives\/london.md\">eth1.0-specs repository<\/a>. <strong>The affected versions containing this bug are go-ethereum 1.10.5, Nethermind 1.10.77 and Erigon 2021.07.03-alpha. The protocol changes are activated at a specific block number.
