GRAM has risen 9% to $1.56 as Telegram has expanded access to Money, its non-custodial wallet for token transfers and collectible purchases.<\/p>\n
\n Summary<\/span>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Walt announced<\/a> that Telegram is extending Money beyond the selected users who previously had access, bringing the wallet to more accounts across a messaging platform with over one billion users.<\/p>\n In the company\u2019s description, an incoming transfer makes the Money section appear inside Telegram. Once the section becomes available, recipients can add GRAM from their Walt account in a few taps, with those transfers described as instant and carrying no network fees.<\/p>\n According to the announcement, Money lets users hold and send the TON blockchain\u2019s native token, as well as purchase Telegram gifts and collectible usernames. Walt presented the feature as Telegram\u2019s own non-custodial wallet, while identifying its separate app as the service for trading and investing.<\/p>\n The supplied market report put GRAM at $1.56 following a 9% gain, with market capitalization up by the same percentage to $4.12 billion. Its figures also showed 24-hour trading volume rising 41% to $132.4 million during the advance.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Telegram founder Pavel Durov first outlined plans for a native wallet in July, proposing instant transfers without fees across the messaging app. As crypto.news previously reported, his fee-free wallet proposal<\/a> placed self-custody directly inside Telegram rather than requiring users to download another wallet.<\/p>\n Under the arrangement described by Durov, holders would control their cryptocurrency instead of leaving custody with Telegram or another provider. His July announcement described a product intended for the platform\u2019s billion-plus monthly users.<\/p>\n By Aug. 31, Durov said selected accounts had begun receiving access, with availability set to expand gradually. The report on that initial Gram wallet rollout<\/a> recorded his plans for payments, transfers and Telegram Collectibles, including digital gifts, usernames and phone numbers.<\/p>\n According to that report, Durov also said network validators had approved the wallet\u2019s supporting smart contract before the release began. He described a design that would allow developers to upgrade the wallet without making holders move their assets to a replacement contract.<\/p>\n In its latest announcement, Walt identified the Telegram wallet as Money and described receiving a transfer as the step that opens the section. The company said funding from Walt would then be available through the built-in top-up process.<\/p>\n In a Sep. 28 announcement, Walt said the former Wallet in Telegram service had adopted its new name after expanding beyond its original role of buying Toncoin and Bitcoin. Coverage of the Wallet to Walt rebrand<\/a> identified The Open Platform as Walt\u2019s developer and distinguished it from Telegram\u2019s native wallet.<\/p>\n According to that announcement, Walt supports holding, depositing, and withdrawing more than 300 assets across four blockchains. The company also listed more than 200 cryptocurrencies for trading and over 100 tokenized stocks, exchange-traded funds and metals.<\/p>\n For derivatives users, Walt\u2019s September announcement listed perpetual futures covering more than 70 assets, including contracts tied to oil, natural gas and metals. Its Earn products included services for dollar-pegged stablecoins, GRAM, Tether Gold, Solana, Ethereum and Tron.<\/p>\n Walt founder and CEO Andrew Rogozov said the product had grown from a basic purchasing tool into a crypto platform inside Telegram. The company also outlined plans for crypto cards and conversational trading tools, assigning those products separate launches.<\/p>\n In support guidance updated Oct. 8, Walt said<\/a> its existing accounts, balances, and wallet addresses remained unchanged after the renaming. The guidance also confirmed that the service no longer appears in Telegram settings and can instead be opened through Telegram search.<\/p>\n According to Walt\u2019s token guidance<\/a>, Toncoin became Gram on June 15, changing the asset\u2019s name, ticker, and logo while leaving the blockchain\u2019s TON name intact.<\/p>\n The company said existing balances, wallet addresses, and GRAM Earn holdings carried over automatically. Its guidance states that holders do not need to swap tokens, transfer funds to another address or approve a migration.<\/p>\n For assets offered through Walt, the same guidance distinguishes tokens eligible for external deposits and withdrawals from trading assets that users can buy, hold and exchange only inside the service.
